(Export News reporter Kim Yoo-jin) The movie "Hot Blood" (director Chun Myung-kwan) unveiled a production behind-the-scenes story that moved Busan to the screen 30 years ago.
"Hot Blood" is a 1993 film about a fierce survival battle between the powerful Hee-soo of the port city of Guam on the outskirts of Busan, where only the worse survive, and the low-lying gangsters to survive there.
Guam, a city in Busan that is as important as the characters, is not real, but it is a recreated space to add to the drama's realism.
To realize Guam, the production team had to launch unprecedented port locations, including Gimhae, Jinhae, Gijang, Masan, Changwon and Ulsan.
The Great Wall Hotel, a major space where Heesoo and Son Young-gam often appear, is not a set or remodeled space but a hotel in Mokpo.
To make the space more realistic, the production team listed hotels across the country, conducted hunting, and completed casting just before the shooting.One of the most revealing spaces of the '90s, the beach also set up about 300 meters of Gijang Beach before producing and filming all the tents, parasols and signboards that are not available now.
On this lively scene, Jung-woo said, "No space, art, or props were unfamiliar to me as I had seen them in Busan when I was young."It was a scene that Busan always saw, and an image that I felt in Busan," he said.
Ji also said, "Every place and prop was perfect.As soon as I went to the set, I felt that I was in the 90s.So I was very immersed in the shooting," he was surprised.
Lee then said, "I had a local vibe from Sinario to Busan.But it was the same while filming.Even to me, who lived in Gyeongsangnam-do, the emotions of Busan and Guam were well incorporated into the movie.If you watch the movie, you will be able to smell the real fun of the movie.
"Hot Blood" will be released on the 23rd.
